Junior IT Operator (Cape Town)

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Junior IT Operator to support our IT operations over a 2 to 4 month period assisting with a Windows 10 Upgrade and Replacement Project. They will work closely with the current IT Operators as the project gets underway and may be required to stand in for them to ensure continuity of support services.

This role is ideal for someone early in their IT career who is eager to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The role involves travel between different locations, so a personal vehicle and a valid driver’s licence is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

· Assist with day-to-day IT support tasks, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and networking issues.

· Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT equipment such as desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.

· Provide first-line support to end users in person, over the phone, and via remote support tools.

· Escalate more complex technical issues to senior IT staff where necessary.

· Assist with setting up and decommissioning user accounts and workstations.

· Maintain accurate records of issues and solutions via the helpdesk/ticketing system.

· Transport equipment between sites as needed.

· Assist with the Windows 10 Upgrade and Replacement Project, working alongside existing IT Operators and providing cover as required.

Requirements:

· IT-related qualification

· Strong interest in IT and some experience (either through study, previous roles, or internships).

· Basic understanding of Windows OS, Microsoft Office, and general IT hardware.

· Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

· Good organisational skills and ability to work independently.

· Own vehicle and valid driver’s licence.
