Junior Merchandiser

We are looking for a Junior Merchandiser to join a well-established Johannesburg-based clothing manufacturing company and support the merchandising team across product development, sampling and production.

This opportunity would suit someone with some merchandising experience who is looking to develop their skills within a hands-on clothing manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the merchandising process from development through to production.
• Assist with product specifications, costing and pricing.
• Coordinate and follow up on samples and approvals.
• Liaise with suppliers, factories and internal teams.
• Track production timelines and outstanding requirements.
• Maintain accurate product and merchandising information.
• Assist with client requirements and queries.
• Support quality checks and ensure products meet specifications.
• Assist with trend research.
• Provide general support to the merchandising team.

Requirements

• 1–3 years' experience in fashion merchandising, clothing manufacturing or a related environment.
• Relevant Fashion/Merchandising qualification advantageous.
• Understanding of the product development process.
• Good Excel and computer skills.
• Strong administration and organisational abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication and follow-up skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Passion for fashion and clothing.
