• Matric Certificate or Grade 12 qualification, including Mathematics and Science subjects
• B.Tech Degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Chemical Engineering
• Post-graduate qualifications in a related field will be considered an advantage
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in relevant industry software and tools
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated understanding of metallurgical or chemical engineering principles
• Relevant practical experience or internships within the metallurgical or chemical engineering sector
• Commitment to continuous professional development and learning

Duties and Responsibilities

• Support the overall operational management of processing plants, ensuring effective technical operations in accordance with defined processing recipes.
• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of technical standards and procedures within the plant to uphold quality and efficiency.
• Conduct metallurgical test work and initiate technical projects aimed at optimizing plant performance.
• Lead and participate in process design, commissioning activities, and production debottlenecking initiatives as required.
• Troubleshoot operational issues promptly to maintain continuous and efficient plant operation.
• Drive cost optimization efforts to improve overall plant profitability without compromising safety or quality.
• Monitor production quantity and quality metrics, ensure accurate metal accounting, and compile performance data for timely reporting.
• Ensure strict adherence to company Health and Safety standards to provide a safe working environment.
• Foster good employee relations and demonstrate effective people management skills.
• Exhibit strong leadership qualities with excellent communication skills, maintaining a self-motivated and enthusiastic approach as a collaborative team player.
