Junior Office Assistant

JOB DESCRIPTION: OFFICE ASSISTANT (TEMPORARY)

Job Summary:

We are looking for a young, energetic and computer-literate Office Assistant to join our team on a temporary basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for marketing our student accommodation properties, managing our social media platforms, and assisting with the student intake process. This role is perfect for a student or recent graduate looking to gain experience in office administration and digital marketing.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Marketing & Advertising:

- Advertise vacant rooms and properties

- Create and post engaging content for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp)

- Actively engage with potential tenants via social media, comments, and inbox messages

2. Leasing Support:

- Generate leads and invite prospective students to view properties

- Schedule and coordinate property viewings

- Assist with tenant intake, application forms and follow-ups

3. Office Support:

- General office administration and data capturing

- Maintain tenant inquiry records and viewing schedules

- Assist with other ad-hoc duties as required

Requirements:

- Must be computer literate (MS Office, Google Workspace, Email)

- Must understand social media marketing and content creation

- Excellent communication skills - written and verbal

- Good interpersonal skills and friendly, professional attitude

- Able to work independently and manage time effectively

- Must be active on social media and understand current trends

- Matric / Currently studying at a tertiary institution will be an advantage

Preferred Candidate:

- Student or young person

- Based in Durban

- Previous experience in sales, marketing, or customer service is an advantage but not required
