Job description
Job Title: Junior Planner
Reporting to: Senior Planner
Purpose of the role: Tactically managing timeous and accurate ordering, order tracking and expediting against strategic plan. Monitoring, resolving and communicating deviations from plan. Accurately maintaining and managing systems data, documentation, permit and financial prepayment requirements for orders, both planned and placed.
Key Functions: Order and Inventory Management
- Tactical planning and order placing – within leadtime
- Tactical deviation monitoring, communicating and resolution. Proactive focus on current events against strategic plan in conjunction with Senior Planner
- Update and maintain planning file, orders and planned orders
- Propose and obtain approval from Senior Planner
- Manage run out/phase in old/new products with Senior Planner
- Create syspro orders and ensure accurate data integration with Tradecloud and forwarders’ systems and manage and maintain required order documentation
- PO to supplier and acknowledgement/ follow up on receipt of order and pricing
- Proforma Qty and pricing deviation to be flagged to Senior Planner
- Monitor and expedite timeous order readiness, loading and shipping with supplier and forwarder
- Notify pricing deviations to Senior Planner
- Ensure permit submitted with Purchase order where applicable
- Destination delivery address and container size definition maintenance and alignment
- Follow up on release of regulated stock and warehouse movements once released
- Assist in Contract packing/Cpack management information
- Give input to Availability reporting and meetings
- Prepayments (request Finance and monitor and expedite payment if required)
- Manage Papertrail & TC for portfolio
- Weekly Shipping File status update
- Requesting of precostings and send to Senior planner
- Adhoc operations tasks
Relationship building and development
- Build trusting relationships with Rialto Colleagues [Commercial, Whse, Technical & NPD team]
- KPI reporting as required
- Backup responsibilities as agreed for S&OP department
Qualifications/Knowledge:
- Relevant Degree or Qualification (supply chain, planning or logistics preferable)
- Knowledge and experience in working with Syspro and Tradecloud preferred
- Knowledge of and experience in planning in the FMCG industry vital
- Good understanding of Supply Chain processes
- Excel: Intermediate, advanced skills preferable
- Knowledge of import processes and procedures
- Numerical/ statistical analysis skills
