Job description
Co ordinate and handle all QA Activities related to the implementation, maintenance and running of the BRCGS product safety and quality management system
REQUIREMENTS:
- Relevant quality assurance experience in the food packaging industry
- Strong understanding of management systems and auditing principles
- Computer literate
- Excellent communication skills
- Self driven with the ability to work independently
- Relevant short courses in HACCP, root cause analysis, implementation of BRCGS systems advantageous
- A national diploma in packaging, polymer technology or food technology is preferred
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the BRCGS Product Safety & Quality Management System, ensuring ongoing compliance with certification requirements and customer expectations.
- Participate in annual product safety audits, supporting audit readiness and continuous improvement.
- Conduct monthly internal audits to verify system effectiveness, identify gaps, and drive corrective actions.
- Support the development and introduction of new products, ensuring all safety, quality, and compliance requirements are met prior to launch.
- Investigate customer complaints and internal/external non‑conformances, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Implement and maintain the calibration programme, ensuring all measuring and monitoring equipment remains accurate and fit for purpose.
- Implement and maintain the supplier approval and monitoring procedure, ensuring service and material suppliers meet safety, quality, and legal requirements.
- Promote quality and food safety awareness at all staff levels, driving a culture of compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
