JUNIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR

Leading construction company based in the Western Cape seeks to employ a quantity surveyor who will be required to perform the following duties. [SALARY NEGOTIABLE]

KEY DUTIES:

1. Execute your roles and ensure compliance in accordance with company’s Integrated Management System (IMS) manual (ISO 9001, 14001 OHS 18001).

2. Maintain records of all documentation on the project you are assigned on and do regular back ups.

3. Compile or assist in compiling monthly cost reports including forecasting.

4. Ensure and maintain regular cost control measures on the project.

5. Compile regular labour cost control reports and report same to project management.

6. Do valuations or assist with valuations to ensure that the company is paid fairly and promptly for work executed on a monthly basis or such other period as agreed with the company directors.

7. Do valuations or assist with valuations to ensure that company creditors are paid fairly and promptly for materials supplied or for services rendered on a monthly basis or such other period as determined in company policies and procedures.

8. Regularly measure and price (or assist with pricing) all work as shown on drawings and issued in site instructions on the project.

9. Check and measure work completed by subcontractors for payment purposes.

10. Timeously measure and place bulk material orders and appoint (or assist in the appointment of) subcontractors and ensure that this process complies with company policy and procedures.

11. Request for materials and subcontractors quotations for tenders and active projects

12. Comply with company safety policies, procedures and work ethic code.

13. Execute any other duty assigned to you by the commercial manager or immediate supervisor which is in line with your general scope of responsibilities

14. Maintain deadlines in line with weekly/monthly commercial department calendar

15. Assist in carrying out site inspections and site reports

16. Assist in recording site variations

17. The role will suit a recent graduate with 1-2 years of experience.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

National Diploma: Building | 1-2 years’ experience in a building environment |

Knowledge of CCS will be an added advantage
