Job description

Real Estate Management - Infrastructure Projects

POST: Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree (NQF 7) in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Construction Management or related Built Environment qualification.
  • 2–4 years' experience supporting infrastructure, construction, maintenance, refurbishment, or capital development projects.
  • Valid Driver's Licence (Code EB/08).

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist with preparation of preliminary estimates and cost plans.
  • Measure quantities from drawings and specifications.
  • Prepare Bills of Quantities (BoQs) under supervision.
  • Assist with cost comparisons and benchmarking.
  • Assist with preparation of tender documentation.
  • Compile procurement schedules and tender registers.
  • Support tender administration and contractor queries.
  • Assist with tender evaluations and comparative analyses.
  • Assist with preparation and administration of construction contracts.
  • Process contractor payment certificates.
  • Maintain contract records and correspondence.
  • Assist with variation orders and claims administration.
  • Track project expenditure against budgets.
  • Update cost reports and financial forecasts.
  • Conduct site measurements and verification inspections.
  • Liaise with consultants, contractors and service providers.
  • Maintain accurate project records and databases.
  • Prepare monthly cost and project reports.
  • Assist with audit requests and governance reporting.
  • Support infrastructure planning activities.
  • Participate in SACQSP professional development programmes.

Salary: Market related
