Job description
POSITION OVERVIEW
Provide quantity surveying, commercial and site coordination support across multiple electrical and civil reticulation projects in the Western Cape. Duties include site inspections, quantity measurements, payment claims, cost control and progress reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and verify completed works.
- Prepare and update Bills of Quantities (BOQs), quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
- Measure completed works and prepare monthly payment claims with supporting documentation.
- Monitor project costs, quantities, variations and expenditure against approved BOQs.
- Compile site progress reports, photographs and project records.
- Assist with procurement, supplier quotations and subcontractor payment assessments.
- Liaise with the Area Manager, site teams, engineers, clients and subcontractors.
- Identify and report delays, discrepancies and site-related issues.
INIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 1–3 years’ relevant construction, QS or project coordination experience.
- Experience in BOQs, quantity measurements, payment claims and reporting.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications; proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel extensively throughout the Western Cape.
ADVANTAGEOUS
Experience in electrical reticulation, civil infrastructure, trenching, cabling or utility installations; knowledge of construction contracts, variations and cost control.
Pay: R13 000,00 - R20 000,00 per month
