Junior Storeman with Hyster licence

Overview

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Junior Storeman to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the efficient receiving, storage, handling, and dispatch of tyres while maintaining high standards of stock control, safety, and housekeeping. A valid Hyster (Forklift) Licence is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and accurately store incoming tyre stock.
• Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for dispatch.
• Load and unload delivery vehicles using a forklift (Hyster).
• Assist with stock counts and cycle counts.
• Ensure stock is stored safely and correctly within designated warehouse locations.
• Maintain accurate stock records and report discrepancies.
• Assist with goods receiving and dispatch documentation.
• Ensure warehouse housekeeping standards are maintained at all times.
• Adhere to company health and safety procedures.
• Assist with general warehouse duties as required.
• Report damaged stock, equipment defects, and safety concerns to management.
• Work collaboratively with warehouse staff, drivers, and sales teams to ensure efficient operations.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Valid Hyster (Forklift) Licence with practical operating experience.
• Minimum 1–2 years' experience in a warehouse or stores environment.
• Experience within the tyre, automotive, logistics, or distribution industry will be advantageous.
• Basic understanding of stock control and inventory management.
• Ability to perform physical duties, including lifting and moving tyres.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure.
• Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Previous experience working in a tyre warehouse is mandatory.
• Experience using warehouse management systems or inventory software.
• Knowledge of receiving, dispatch, and stock rotation procedures.
• Forklift operating experience in a busy warehouse environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
