Junior Hair Extension Stylist – Part-Time

Part-time | 3 days per week

The Extension Studio is looking for an energetic, polished and ambitious Junior Hair Extension Stylist to join our team.

This is an entry-level opportunity for someone who wants to build a career specialising in premium hair extensions. Previous extension experience is not required — we're looking for the right attitude, work ethic and willingness to learn.

Hairdressing experience or a qualification is an advantage, but not essential.

The Role

You'll work alongside our experienced stylists while being trained in The Extension Studio's methods.

Your responsibilities will initially include:

• Shampooing and conditioning
• Blow-drying and styling
• Hair extension removals
• Preparing clients and extension hair for appointments
• Assisting stylists during extension services
• Maintaining clean and organised workstations
• Assisting with before-and-after photos and content
• General salon support when required

Your technical training will focus primarily on Beaded Weft Extensions, followed by:

• Keratin Bond Extensions
• Extension maintenance and removals
• Hair Toppers
• Mesh Integration
• Extension aftercare and product knowledge

As your skills develop, you'll gradually progress to taking your own clients.

Experience

Previous salon or hairdressing experience is an advantage but not essential.

We welcome applications from qualified stylists, individuals currently studying hairdressing, junior stylists and candidates who demonstrate natural ability and a genuine interest in the industry.

Working Arrangement

• Part-time: 3 days per week
• Durban-based
• Saturday availability is required
• Public holiday availability when required

The position will initially be paid at a basic rate during the training period. Once you're trained and confident enough to take your own clients, the earning structure will progress to a commission-based model.
