Job Type Permanent Occupational Function Support / Admin Number of Positions 1 Annual Salary Package (incl. Medical Aid rate based on principal member only) To be confirmed Advert Closing Date 4/10/2026 Job Purpose To assist the laboratory technician to safely prepare, demonstrate, conduct, and evaluate practical classes within the welding laboratory (practical related subjects include MMG 150S, MMG150X. EMT150S, EMT.150X, MEM 150S).

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Matric or equivalent. A relevant technical qualification will be an added advantage.
• At least 1-year relevant experience in an Engineering Manufacturing Environment.
• Arc welding experience will be an added advantage. Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities
• Assist the technician with preparation of lab materials
• Assist the technician with laying out of class material and setting up equipment
• Assist the technician with guiding students making use of the welding lab
• Assist with any other reasonable general preparations for classes
• Make sure that the welding lab is always a clean and usable state
• Assist technician with general machinery and equipment maintenance
• Ensure laboratory safety and standards are always upheld Competencies
• Familiar with various welding methods
• Have some basic rigging knowledge
• Keep track of material and consumable stock
• Time management
• Be physically fit
• Safety awareness
• Ability to understand written and verbal instructions
• Strong learner focus
