About Us

Eco Edge Landscaping is a start-up garden care business in Cape Town's Southern Suburbs, built on quality, water-wise service — grass cutting, weeding, edging, hedge trimming, pruning, garden clean-ups and waste removal. Sustainability is central to what we do, from composting green waste to water-wise irrigation practice. Garden maintenance is our foundation today; over the next 2–3 years we're growing into hard landscaping and outdoor construction (paving, decking, pergolas, retaining walls, irrigation), and we're looking for the right person — or team — to help build that.

The Role

We need senior operational leadership for our day-to-day garden maintenance now, and hands-on expertise to help design and launch our hardscaping and irrigation offering as we phase it in. This is a ground-floor opportunity to shape new divisions of a growing business, not just maintain an existing one. We're open to a single all-rounder covering both soft and hard landscaping, or a small team of specialists (e.g. a maintenance lead plus a hardscaping/irrigation specialist) — tell us where your strengths lie.

What You'll Do

• Lead, schedule and supervise crews across multiple sites daily; allocate tasks, run quality inspections, and train and manage ground staff
• Oversee core garden maintenance — grass cutting, weeding, edging, hedge trimming, planting, bed care, clean-ups, waste removal, garage clearances, and tree felling/pruning
• Help build our future hardscaping and irrigation division — bringing expertise in paving, decking, pergolas, retaining walls and water-wise/smart irrigation, and setting the standards, pricing and workflow from scratch
• Read site plans/client briefs and translate them into practical job plans; manage subcontractors and trades on build work under the Eco Edge name
• Conduct site visits, support accurate quoting, and act as the on-site point of contact for clients
• Keep stock, timesheets, site reports and H&S compliance in order

What We're Looking For

• Solid hands-on landscaping experience — strong in soft landscaping and/or hard landscaping (paving, decking, retaining walls, irrigation); ideally both if applying solo
• Supervisory or management experience running crews/sites independently
• Based in or around Cape Town — non-negotiable
• Strong leadership and communication skills, working knowledge of irrigation/hardscape technique and horticultural best practice, and an entrepreneurial, self-starting mindset
• Advantageous: a horticulture/landscaping qualification, driver's licence, First Aid certificate, or chemical-handling certification
