Role Purpose
The Learning & Capability Manager is responsible for driving learning, skills development, onboarding and organisational capability across MORE Collection.
The role partners with HR Business Partners, operational leaders and support office teams to ensure employees have access to the learning, knowledge, tools and development opportunities needed to perform effectively and grow within the business.
In addition to managing learning and skills development initiatives, the role is responsible for strengthening organisational capability through knowledge management, onboarding consistency, leadership development and the governance of organisational knowledge, standards and best practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES
Skills Development & Compliance
- Manage WSP and ATR submissions and ensure Skills Development compliance.
- Maintain SETA and QCTO relationships and maximise funding opportunities.
- Coordinate learnerships, internships and other skills development initiatives.
- Ensure accurate reporting, record keeping and audit readiness.
- Manage compliance with skills development, employment equity, and B-BBEE requirements to earn the highest possible skills development score.
Learning & Development
- Identify learning needs and capability gaps in partnership with HRBPs and business leaders.
- Design and coordinate learning programmes, development pathways and learning interventions.
- Manage external training providers and learning resources.
- Support the implementation and optimisation of learning systems and tools.
Onboarding & Employee Development
- Develop and maintain MORE Collection's onboarding and induction framework.
- Support the creation of role-specific onboarding and development pathways.
- Coordinate leadership development and employee growth initiatives.
- Support succession planning and internal mobility through structured development opportunities.
Knowledge Management & Organisational Capability
- Maintain a central repository of organisational knowledge, policies, SOPs and learning resources.
- Establish governance practices for document ownership, version control and knowledge accessibility.
- Partner with operational teams to capture and share organisational knowledge and best practice.
- Drive consistency in onboarding, operational standards and knowledge-sharing across the business.
- Support the development of capability frameworks, learning pathways and leadership expectations that enable employees to perform effectively in their roles.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Track and report on learning participation, compliance and effectiveness.
- Develop learning and capability dashboards and insights.
- Measure the impact of development initiatives and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Continuously enhance learning, onboarding and capability practices across the group.
- Train and support HODs and HRBP in tracking, evaluating, and reporting on learning results and training value.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Relevant qualification in Human Resources, Learning & Development, Organisational Development, Education, Industrial Psychology or a related field.
- Skills Development Facilitator (SDF) certification advantageous.
- Assessor and/or Moderator accreditation advantageous.
Experience
- 4–6 years' experience in Learning & Development, Skills Development
- Experience managing WSP/ATR submissions and SETA engagement.
- Experience developing learning programmes, onboarding initiatives and capability-building interventions.
- Experience working across multiple sites or operational environments.
- Hospitality or service industry experience advantageous.
Knowledge & Skills
- Thorough Knowledge and understanding of Skills Development legislation and SETA processes.
- Thorough understanding of the B-BBEE Tourism Sector Codes, specifically the Skills Development element
- Experience in dealing with CATHSSETA will be advantageous
- Understanding of the NQF and SAQA guidelines
- Understanding of learning programme design and adult learning principles.
- Knowledge of onboarding, knowledge management and document governance practices.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication and project coordination skills.
- Strong analytical and reporting capability.
