Job description
We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Higher Education Business Administration/Business Management Lecturer to join the academic team at one of our colleges.
This position requires an experienced higher-education academic with proven experience in lecturing, student facilitation, assessment, marking, and moderation.
Minimum Requirements:
Candidates MUST meet the following requirements:
- A relevant Bachelor's degree or Advanced Diploma (NQF Level 7) or higher in Office Administration, Office Management, Business Administration, Administrative Management, Management or a closely related field
- A minimum of 2 years' lecturing experience within a higher education institution
- Demonstrable experience in facilitating and supporting higher education students
- Proven experience in marking and assessing student work
- Experience in the moderation of assessments
- Experience providing structured academic feedback to students
- Experience working with assessment criteria, marking guides and academic rubrics
- Sound knowledge of higher education assessment and academic quality-assurance processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong administrative and organisational abilities
- Competence in online learning platforms and digital teaching tools
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate Business Administration and related higher education modules
- Provide academic guidance and support to students
- Mark formative and summative assessments
- Conduct assessment and moderation activities
- Provide comprehensive and constructive academic feedback
- Apply institutional marking guides, rubrics and assessment standards consistently
- Maintain accurate academic and assessment records
- Participate in academic quality-assurance activities
- Contribute to the review and development of learning materials and assessments
- Work collaboratively with programme coordinators and the broader academic team
- Meet all required academic and assessment deadlines
Regulatory Requirements
As this position forms part of the institution's higher education academic staffing structure, the successful candidate's CV, academic qualifications and relevant experience may be submitted to the applicable higher education regulatory and quality-assurance bodies as part of accreditation and regulatory processes.
Appointment will therefore be subject to the candidate meeting all applicable academic, institutional and regulatory requirements .
Candidates must be willing to provide certified copies of qualifications and any additional supporting documentation required for accreditation or regulatory purposes.
IMPORTANT: Applicants without previous HIGHER EDUCATION lecturing, facilitation, marking, assessment and moderation experience will not be considered.
Candidates should ensure that their CV clearly demonstrates their higher education experience in these areas.
