Berea College of Technology is expanding its academic portfolio and invites suitably qualified, passionate, and experienced professionals to apply for the position of Lecturer: Diploma in Agriculture Management
Nature of Employment: Full-Time / Part-Time / Independent Contractor
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- A minimum NQF Level 7 qualification in Agriculture, Agricultural Management, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics or a closely related field.
- A relevant NQF Level 8 qualification will be an added advantage.
- Relevant tertiary teaching/lecturing experience will be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of agricultural management principles and practices.
- Practical agricultural or industry experience will be an advantage.
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Strong academic, analytical and research skills.
- Knowledge of assessment, moderation and quality-assurance processes.
- Ability to facilitate learning at NQF Level 6.
- A minimum of 2 years' relevant industry and/or lecturing experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver lectures and facilitate learning within the Diploma in Agriculture Management programme.
- Develop lesson plans, study guides, learning materials, practical activities, and assessments in accordance with curriculum requirements and regulatory standards.
- Conduct assessments, moderation, and provide constructive academic feedback to students.
- Facilitate practical and laboratory-based learning activities to promote the application of theoretical concepts.
- Monitor student performance and provide appropriate academic support and intervention where necessary.
- Supervise and mentor students to promote academic success and professional development.
- Participate in programme reviews, curriculum development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to academic administration, quality assurance processes, and institutional committees as required.
- Foster relationships with industry stakeholders to strengthen the relevance and responsiveness of the programme.
- Uphold academic integrity and ensure compliance with institutional policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
