Job description
Key responsibilities
Lecture subjects in Management related to Logistics and Supply Chain
Teaching and learning
Lecture Management subjects related to Logistics and Supply Chain Management within a blended contact learning environment.
Deliver engaging and student-centered lectures that promote critical thinking and practical application.
Design and conduct assessments, including marking and moderation, in accordance with institutional policies and quality standards.
Uphold academic quality assurance processes to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
Provide academic support and guidance to students to promote student success, retention, and progression.
Contribute to curriculum development, review, and transformation to ensure programmes remain relevant, inclusive, and aligned with industry needs.
Research
Produce accredited research publications in the field of Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
Demonstrate thought leadership within both the higher education and industry sectors.
Conduct applied research to enhance teaching, learning, and industry relevance.
Academic citizenship
Participate in community engagement initiatives and academic–industry partnerships.
Strengthen relationships with industry stakeholders and maintain professional networks.
Contribute to institutional internationalisation initiatives where applicable.
Collaborate with colleagues through mentorship, staff development, and academic leadership.
Actively participate in institutional committees and academic initiatives.
Self-development
Demonstrate a commitment to continuous personal, academic, and professional development.
Qualifications and experience
A minimum NQF Level 9 qualification in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
Demonstrated lecturing experience in a blended learning environment, including the use of learning management systems (LMS) and digital platforms such as MS Teams, Google Meet, or Zoom.
Relevant industry experience in business, ideally with active membership in a recognised professional body or industry organisation
Skills and competencies
Strong academic background in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
Proven experience in lecturing within a blended learning environment.
Ability to utilise digital teaching tools and learning management systems effectively.
Relevant industry experience with professional engagement in recognised industry bodies.
Prior lecturing experience at a university or college level will be advantageous.
A solid understanding of the South African higher education landscape.
