Role Clarification & Key Performance Areas
The Department of Student Administration is part of the Registrar’s portfolio. The department runs and co-ordinates many of the student-based administrative functions of the University e.g. admission and registration of students; administration of examinations and graduations; official release of results and academic transcripts; student cards (ID), and assisting students with a range of registration/enrolment related-matters. Our goal is to provide a professional, friendly and quality service in an efficient manner. We strive to effectively administer the University’s policies, procedures and rules while ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and adhering to the highest ethical standards.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Liaison Officer. Reporting to the Coordinator: Faculty Liaison Office, the incumbent will assist and support the Student Administration Office with the functioning of the undergraduate and postgraduate administration processes: performing and overseeing tasks relating to undergraduate and postgraduate enrolments (admissions, registrations, records maintenance, year-end processing and data verification and monitoring); liaising with staff in Faculty and Central Administration departments (Student Credit Management, Financial Aid and the Office of the Deputy Registrar).
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma or Advanced Certificate (NQF 6)
- 3 – 5 Years relevant university administrative experience
- Working knowledge of any University Administrative system
- Be proficient in using web-based IT solutions (Power BI, Jotform, Website Management)
The following would be advantageous:
- A Bachelor’s degree would be advantageous
- Knowledge of university administrative systems such as CMS, SASI and MAS
- Experience working as a Administrative Officer
- Experience with processes such as applications, registrations, promotions, etc.

- High levels of honesty and integrity
- Ability to work under pressure and be prepared to work after hours
- High energy levels over sustained periods of the academic cycle are required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to collaborate with various stakeholders
- Planning and organizing skills
- Excellent time management skills
