Job description
About the Company
Zibuke OnCall is a unit within the Services Division of Zibuke Africa. We help homeowners and corporate customers manage the cost of unexpected maintenance with affordable subscription packages for appliance repairs, electrical work, plumbing, and handyman services. For homeowners we provide individual property coverage so families can keep their homes running without unexpected repair bills. For corporate customers we provide portfolio coverage for commercial properties, rental units, offices, and retail spaces so property owners and managers can maintain their assets without operational disruption. We operate across South Africa and are growing rapidly.
We do not use traditional interviews. We believe you should be judged by what you can do, not by how well you talk about yourself. Every technical role begins with a practical skills verification and an Accountability Assessment. This is a real work proving period where you demonstrate your skill, your reliability, and your commitment to quality.
Our plumbing department handles everything from leaking taps and blocked drains to full geyser replacements and bathroom installations for both homeowners and corporate customers. We serve homeowners and corporate customers who trust us with their properties, and we take that trust seriously.
Job Description
Zibuke OnCall is looking for a licensed, trade-tested Plumber to join our Plumbing Department. You must hold a valid Trade Test Certificate (Red Seal) and be currently registered with the Plumbing Industry Registration Board (PIRB) with active membership in good standing. You must also have the practical experience to back up your qualifications. This is not a learn on the job position. We require fully qualified, licensed plumbers who can diagnose, quote, and complete plumbing work independently to a high standard.
As a plumber you will work across both customer groups. On any given day you may be replacing a geyser at a family home in the morning and repairing burst pipes at a retail centre in the afternoon. You will service residential properties for individual homeowners and commercial properties for corporate clients. This variety keeps the work interesting and builds your experience across residential and commercial plumbing systems.
This role begins with a practical skills verification, followed by the Plumber Accountability Assessment. This is a period during which you complete real plumbing jobs while we confirm your work quality, your reliability, and your customer service standards. You are on salary from Day 1. Your experience and qualifications determine your starting salary within the R20,000 to R36,000 range.
We provide the tools, the parts, the materials, and the customer bookings. You prove your skill through real results.
Key Responsibilities
You will diagnose and complete plumbing repairs and installations for both residential and commercial customers to a high quality standard. You will perform geyser replacements and repairs including electrical geyser elements, thermostats, valves, and safety systems. You will repair and replace taps, mixers, showerheads, and water saving devices. You will repair and replace toilets, cisterns, flush mechanisms, and bathroom fittings. You will unblock drains, sewer lines, and stormwater systems using appropriate tools and techniques. You will repair burst pipes, leaking joints, and water supply lines. You will install and repair water tanks, pressure pumps, and rainwater harvesting systems.
You will complete every job efficiently and professionally with no callbacks and no complaints. You will treat every customer's home and corporate property with care and respect because every job represents your name and the Zibuke OnCall name. You will take full ownership of your work with no shortcuts, no cutting corners, and no excuses. You will keep your word by showing up on time, completing jobs within the estimated timeframe, and communicating clearly with customers. You will complete job documentation, photographs, and customer sign off for every job. You will maintain your tools, your company vehicle where provided, and your work area. You will work within the accountability framework. Your results speak for you.
