Link Manager

POSITION STATEMENT

Lead the management and maintenance of fiber optic connections within a network infrastructure and new link provisioning. Responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of fiber optic links, which are crucial for highspeed data transmission.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the billing process and operate within budget
• Ensure As builds & ATP packs are delivered timeously and accurately
• Ensure effective troubleshooting adhering to best practice standards
• Implement security measures and liaise with optical planners to safeguard data integrity
• Verify data integrity of route and splice labelling on photo templates
• Ensure correct matching of SI’s to build documentation
• Ensure verified Information is uploaded onto relevant systems
• Liaise with optical planners to ensure data integrity and network optimisation
• Ensure splicers have the relevant build information
• Responsible for vehicle and tool requirements oversight.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting on link completion
• Ensure correct Link build schedule is in place
• Provide support to floating teams and ensure documentation is updated
• Responsible for accurate and timely quotes, POs and invoicing for floating technicians
• Build strong relationships with the relevant stakeholders, communicate regularly and drive customer service
• Manage link admins as well as link delivery teams (internal or contractor)

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

• Knowledge and understanding of the telecommunications / fibre industry
• Knowledge MS Office software package, Google Earth
• Knowledge of CRM and Quick Base
• Understanding of fibre testing methodology
• Basic project management skills
• Understanding of FTTB networks & processes

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Grade 12
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar role
• Previous experience of working in a telecommunication industry is an added advantage
• Strong stakeholder management experience
