Mathematics Educator & Mathematical Literacy Teacher (Locum Position)
Smart Educators is seeking passionate, dynamic, and qualified educator to join a progressive independent school for a fixed-term locum opportunity during Term 3. The position offers an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact by delivering high-quality teaching in a supportive, learner-centred environment.
Contract Period: 21 July 2026 – 23 September 2026
Positions Available
1. Mathematics Educator
Teaching Mathematics to high school learners.
Minimum Requirements
- A valid SACE registration certificate.
- An appropriate teaching qualification:
- Bachelor of Education (BEd), or
- BSc/BCom degree with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
- A minimum of two years’ classroom teaching experience.
- Sound knowledge of the CAPS curriculum.
- Experience teaching in an independent or high school environment will be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned Mathematics and/or Mathematical Literacy lessons.
- Assess, monitor, and report on learner progress in accordance with CAPS requirements.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that supports diverse learner needs.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies to promote learner engagement and achievement.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff to enhance learner success.
- Participate in school activities, professional development initiatives, and extracurricular programmes where required.
