Role Description The Locum Occupational Nursing Practitioner role is a part-time, on-site and off-site position based in Cape Town area. The practitioner will conduct occupational health assessments, including pre-employment, periodic, and exit medicals, and maintain accurate clinical records in line with regulatory standards. Tasks include performing health screenings, administering vaccinations where required, The role involves providing health education, advising on workplace safety and wellness initiatives, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and employers to implement occupational health policies. The practitioner will also ensure compliance with relevant occupational health legislation and participate in quality improvement and reporting activities.

Qualifications

• Professional nursing qualification and registration with the relevant Nursing Council, with additional training or certification in occupational health nursing.
• Experience in occupational health settings, including conducting workplace medicals, risk-based health surveillance. Knowledge of occupational health legislation, workplace safety standards, and relevant clinical guidelines applicable to South African workplaces.
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and report-writing skills, with attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with employees, employers, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Previous experience in corporate or industrial environments and exposure to wellness programs and health promotion initiatives is beneficial.
