Job Title
Logistics Co-ordinator
Job Purpose
To coordinate the movement of materials, products, and deliveries by managing the company's fleet and external transport providers. The role ensures deliveries and collections are completed safely, on time, and cost-effectively while maintaining accurate logistics records and supporting operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule daily deliveries and collections.
- Coordinate the company's fleet and third-party transport providers.
- Liaise with drivers, suppliers, customers, and production teams.
- Track deliveries and resolve transport-related issues.
- Ensure vehicles are serviced, licensed, roadworthy, and compliant with company policies.
- Monitor fuel usage, maintenance costs, and vehicle performance.
- Obtain transport quotations and negotiate rates where appropriate.
- Prepare delivery schedules, route plans, and shipping documentation.
- Maintain accurate logistics, delivery, and fleet records.
- Monitor transport costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and transport regulations.
- Assist with stock movement and warehouse coordination when required.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is advantageous.
- 2-3 years' experience in logistics, fleet, or transport coordination.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and logistics/ERP systems.
- Strong planning, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Valid driver's licence is advantageous.
