Job Advert Summary
This is a full-time position, based at Marble Hall. The candidate will be required to lead and coordinate all logistics, dispatch and production scheduling activities to ensure safe, efficient and cost-effective operations while maintaining the highest standards of quality, biosecurity, customer service and regulatory compliance.
Minimum Requirements
Position Requirements/Qualification:
- Matric/Grade 12.
- A minimum of three years’ supervisory or managerial experience in a logistics, dispatch, warehousing, production or similar operational environment.
- Experience in the animal-feed or agricultural manufacturing industry would be advantageous
- Practical experience in staff supervision, production planning and dispatch coordination.
- Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in compiling operational reports and working with performance data.
- Sound understanding of occupational health and safety, quality and compliance requirements.
- A valid driver’s licence, if applicable to the position.

Duties and Responsibilities
1.Logistics & Dispatch
-
Manage the daily dispatch operation.
-
Coordinate all customer deliveries to ensure on-time delivery.

Plan vehicle loading and dispatch according to customer requirements.

Ensure correct product, quantity and destination before dispatch.
-
Monitor fleet movements and turnaround times.
-
Ensure legal axle and gross vehicle mass compliance.
-
Production Planning
-
Prepare and manage the daily and weekly factory production schedule.
-
Coordinate production with customer demand and stock availability.
-
Liaise with Production, Sales and Operations to optimize production efficiency.
-
Staff Management
-
Supervise the Dispatch Department.
-
Manage the Weighbridge Operator, Bulk Loaders, Forklift Drivers and Cleaning Personnel.

Allocate work and monitor productivity.

Conduct toolbox talks.
-
Manage attendance, leave, overtime and shift planning.
-
Conduct counselling, disciplinary action and performance management.

Biosecurity
-
Manage the site's biosecurity programme.
-
Ensure all trucks are cleaned and disinfected according to company procedures.

Monitor compliance with biosecurity requirements.
-
Investigate and resolve biosecurity deviations.
-
Health, Safety, Quality & Compliance
-
Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
-
Investigate incidents, customer complaints and NCRs.
-
Identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
-
Develop and maintain SOPs and work instructions.
-
Promote continuous improvement within the department.

Administration & Reporting
-
Maintain dispatch documentation.
-
Maintain weighbridge records.
-
Compile operational and KPI reports.
-
Analyze operational data using Excel.

Capture and maintain information on CBH Portal, Mix Telematics, Jarrison and Sage
