Logistics & Operations Assistant

As our Logistics & Operations Assistant, you will play an important role in ensuring our tracking devices are prepared, dispatched, recovered and maintained to the highest standard. You'll champion the day-to-day operational activities that keep our business running efficiently and ensure our customers receive the exceptional service they're accustomed to.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys organisation, technology and problem-solving. No two days are the same, so we're looking for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented and takes pride in doing things right.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

• Prepare, test and configure tracking devices before dispatch.
• Perform battery, connectivity and firmware checks.
• Identify, troubleshoot and report device faults or irregularities.
• Pack customer orders according to company procedures.
• Coordinate courier collections and deliveries.
• Track outbound and returned shipments.
• Coordinate device recoveries with customers.
• Maintain accurate inventory records for devices, packaging and operational supplies.
• Replenish stock between our office and off-site storage facility.
• Procure operational supplies when required.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, organised and safe operational workspace.
• Carry out any other reasonable operational duties that fall within the scope of the role.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• 2–3 years' experience in logistics, inventory management or a similar operational role.
• Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Comfortable using smartphones, mobile applications and computer software.
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Afrikaans.
• Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Able to work independently while also contributing positively within a small team.
• Physically able to lift and carry boxed equipment (14 kgs)
• Valid South African driver's licence.
• Own reliable transport, with occasional travel to customer locations and storage facilities (business travel will be reimbursed).
• Bring Your Own Device (BYOD): Access to a personal laptop and a compatible smartphone (Android 13 or later, or iOS 15.1 or later) for work purposes. These devices will be used to access company systems and operational applications in accordance with Escavox's BYOD policy.

Advantageous

The following would be beneficial but are not essential:

• Qualification or certification in Logistics, Supply Chain or Operations.
• Experience working with inventory management systems.
• Experience in a technology, electronics or IoT environment.
• Experience coordinating courier or logistics operations.

Pay: R8 000,00 - R12 000,00 per month
