Purpose of Position:

The purpose of the logistics specialist is to coordinate and optimize the end-to-end flow of goods, services, and inventory from suppliers to customers. They ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery while maintaining accurate stock levels and resolving supply chain disruption.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

Process Intercompany and Third-party purchase orders, expedite and ensure timeous supply.

Responsible for order intake and supply of customer orders related to spares, systems and projects.

Regularly updates the status of customer orders on SAP and Salesforce as well as the Internal order tracker file.

Responsible for materials sourcing and procurement from Third Party suppliers as and when required for stock and non-stock items.

Assist with Goods Receipt of Third Party and non-stock items onto SAP.

Liaises with Logistics Team Lead and Stores Controller in maintaining the Regional critical stock levels.

Manages and keeps record of the intercompany invoices, including the tracking of shipments In-Transit until delivery is complete.

Maintain an up-to-date record of audit trails for procurement (Intercompany, Internal, and external)

Oversee classification of all materials and products updating the Tariff / Harmonization codes in collaboration with Stores Controller and Logistics Driver - Assistant.

Participation in Audit, Stocktaking and assist Shared Services.

Filing / management of records, archiving and storage requirements.

Compliance with Leica / Hexagon Mining Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures,

Other duties as required from time to time.

Knowledge and Experience - Required:

3 - 5 Years of working experience in a relevant supply chain and/or logistics role such as: Procurement, Warehousing, Logistics and Customs.

Intermediate working knowledge on Microsoft Office suite and (in particular, MS Word and Excel)

Working knowledge of general inventory and replenishment program. e.g. (Cyclecounting, Shelf Life, FIFO, Kan-Ban, ROP, etc.)

High level of attention to detail

Strong time management and prioritization skills

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Ability to work in and contribute to team building environment

Ability to set day-to-day priorities within overall priority listing

Strong problem solving, interpersonal and negotiation skills

Knowledge and Experience - Desired:

Working knowledge of Salesforce and SAP ERP business systems.

Working knowledge on Lean Manufacturing tools.

Working knowledge on Import/export process.

Travel:

Less than 5% of the time.
