Logistics Supervisor (Herold, Western Cape)

SSK currently has the following career opportunity at its Distribution Centre in Herold. As our Logistics Supervisor, you will oversee the day-to-day logistics operations/ responsibilities of the Distribution Centre to ensure the department's operational success.

Responsibilities:

• Supervision of the operational/logistical activities of the Distribution Centre, including receipt, storage, packaging, and timely and complete delivery of stock to our branches.
• Responsible for ensuring that the general delivery service of the Distribution Centre is consistently of an exceptional standard.
• Inventory management (management of stock levels, regular stock counts, monitoring and controlling stock shortages, management of stock with expiry dates, etc.).
• Supervision of and motivation of staff, promotion of a collaborative and positive working environment, and development of staff skills.
• Ensure that the general cleanliness and housekeeping of the Distribution Centre are always up to standard.
• Supervision of and maintenance of vehicles, equipment, and other assets.
• Ensure that all legal requirements regarding safety and security in the workplace are in place and complied with.
• The identification of new processes/ methods of operation and their implementation in collaboration with the Distribution Centre Manager to further increase the operational success of the Distribution Centre.

Requirements:

• An appropriate qualification/ proof of competency is essential.
• At least five years of experience in a distribution or logistics environment.
• Good computer skills, the ability to work under pressure and solve problems quickly.
• Strong leadership, good planning, interpersonal and communication skills.
• A valid Code EB (Code 08) driver's license is a requirement.
