Field IT; Infrastructure; Provides Remote, On-Site, or Depot Technical Support to Fedex Operations Staff, Fedex Customers, & 3Rd Party Organizations in the Diagnostics, Maintenance, & Support of all Electronic Technologies, Networks, & Software Applications Deployed; Performs Technical Support Problem Resolution & Provides Input to the Isolation & Resolution of Component, Network, Hardware, & Software Problems

Based in Cape Town and operating as a key autonomous link for our Johannesburg-based IT leadership team, you will serve as the hands-on and remote technical authority for FedEx operations staff, external customers, and third-party partner organizations.
What You’ll Do
In this dynamic, high-impact role, you will manage, maintain, and troubleshoot the hardware, software, and network infrastructure that keeps our regional supply chain moving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Field & Remote IT Support: Provide remote, on-site, and depot technical support across electronic technologies, network infrastructure, and deployed software applications for FedEx operations, regional customers, and vendors.
- Problem Isolation & Diagnostics: Perform end-to-end technical problem resolution, isolating complex hardware, software, component, and network issues across local and remote SSA sites.
- Process & System Improvement: Apply specialist technical knowledge to execute and review cross-departmental procedures, ensuring alignment with divisional and global corporate goals.
- Design & Implementation: Participate in—and occasionally lead—the design, testing, and deployment of new technology processes and infrastructure enhancements within your domain.
- Autonomous Operations: Act as the trusted technical anchor in Cape Town, managing site visits, remote troubleshooting, and vendor coordination independently while keeping in close sync with the Johannesburg team.
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a proactive self-starter who thrives when working independently, possesses strong technical intuition, and communicates effectively across distance and diverse teams.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
- 3 to 4 years of hands-on experience in Field IT, Infrastructure Support, Network Diagnostics, or Technical Customer Support.
- Proven track record of supporting deployed hardware, enterprise applications, and network components both remotely and on-site.
- Willingness and ability to work autonomously in Cape Town while supporting remote environments across the SSA region.
