Maintenance Coordinator

Description

• Statutory accountability (appointed in terms of section GMR2{7} in terms of the OHS act) for Hulamin.
• Execution of tasks required for Statutory compliance in terms of the OHS act.
• Overseeing the day-to-day mechanical maintenance activities.
• Ensuring resources are adequately planned and scheduled.
• Managing breakdowns and ensuring minimum downtime.
• Ensure good quality work from direct reports with zero rework.
• Planning daily/weekly activities for direct reports
• Managing time and attendance and overtime in the area
• Managing maintenance costs and spares throughout the department.
• Managing a workspace with sound 5S principles
• Coaching and mentoring direct reports
• Identifying training needs and skills requirements for direct reports

Requirements

• Minimum Qualification: Relevant Trade Test (Millwright or Mechanical/Electrical) or a National Diploma in Engineering (N6/S4).
• Wireman's license
• Experience: At least 5- 8 years maintenance experience in a large manufacturing environment (preferably casthouse)
• Leadership: At least 3 years in a supervisory or coordinating role managing multidisciplinary teams.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems) like SAP or Maximo.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and combustion systems.
• Experience with diesel-driven mobile equipment and heavy-duty machinery.
• Ability to interpret complex electrical and mechanical schematics.

Soft Skills

• Decisiveness: Ability to make high-pressure decisions during furnace or casting emergencies.
• Communication: Clear verbal and written reporting to both technical teams and upper management.
