Maintenance Coordinator

Life & Brand Portfolio is currently looking for a Maintenance Coordinator. This candidate owns the planning and coordination side of maintenance across the Gauteng sites, manages the Maintenance Man's workload, and works alongside him on-site when extra hands are needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Schedule and track preventative maintenance across all Gauteng restaurants (kitchen equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fixtures and fittings)
• Log and prioritise reactive maintenance requests from store managers, and manage response times
• Liaise with external contractors and suppliers for specialist repairs (refrigeration technicians, electricians, aircon servicing etc.), including getting quotes and managing service level agreements
• Maintain a maintenance register/asset list per site, including service history and warranty tracking
• Manage and report on the maintenance budget, and flag capex needs (equipment replacement, major repairs)
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, and coordinate any statutory inspections (electrical certificates of compliance, gas compliance, fire equipment servicing)
• Direct and check in on the Maintenance Handyman's day-to-day work, and be hands-on alongside on-site for larger jobs, urgent call-outs, or whenever an extra pair of hands is needed to get a job done faster
• Report into you (or ops management) on outstanding issues, costs, and recurring problem areas per site

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

• Understanding of general building maintenance and electrical systems, with the practical ability to actually assist with repairs, not just assess them
• Computer literate (able to manage a maintenance log/spreadsheet, email, basic reporting)
• Valid driving licence (multi-site travel across Gauteng)
• Physically able and willing to do hands-on work alongside the Maintenance Man, not purely a desk/admin role
• Strong organisational skills, able to juggle multiple sites, priorities, and switch between planning and doing
• Good communicator, comfortable liaising with store managers, contractors and suppliers
• Prior experience in facilities/maintenance coordination, ideally in hospitality, retail or multi-site environment, with genuine trade skills (not just management experience)

Pay: R18 000,00 - R25 000,00 per month
