Role Description:

The Maintenance Electrician role is a full-time, on-site position based in Midrand or in Brits, NorthWest Province. The Maintenance Electrician will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and inspecting electrical systems and german designed, fast-paced, automated, blockmaking equipment to ensure safe and reliable operations. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing electrical faults, performing routine and preventive maintenance, and responding to breakdowns promptly whether during day or night shifts. The role also involves collaborating with maintenance and operations teams, adhering to safety standards and regulations, and documenting work performed. The Maintenance Electrician will support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to reduce downtime and enhance equipment performance.

Qualifications

• Candidates must possess strong skills in Plant and Equipment Electrical Maintenance and have extensive Control circuit knowledge and experience, Instrumentation experience and/or qualifications will be an advantage.
• Candidates must possess effective Troubleshooting abilities to identify, diagnose, and resolve electrical faults and system issues.
• Candidates must possess experience in Preventive Maintenance to schedule and carry out regular inspections and servicing.
• Candidates must have a relevant technical qualification, preferably to N6 level and trade certification as an Electrician or Millwright or Electromechanotechnician or Instrumentation technician.
• Candidates must have knowledge of electrical safety standards and applicable regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and technical documentation.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently and within a team.
• Previous experience in a similar maintenance electrician role in an industrial or manufacturing setting is beneficial.
