SUMMARY: The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing production machinery and equipment to ensure maximum plant reliability and minimum downtime.
Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on plant machinery and equipment.
Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical and hydraulic faults.
Troubleshoot three-phase electrical systems, motors, control circuits and industrial equipment.
Carry out fault-finding on PLC-controlled equipment.
Assist with the installation, commissioning and modification of new and existing machinery.
Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to improve plant reliability and production efficiency.
Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment.
Complete maintenance reports and job cards where required
POSITION INFO: Qualified Electrician or Qualified Millwright with a Trade Test. Min of 2 years' experience in an industrial maintenance environment. Strong electrical fault-finding skills with sound mechanical and hydraulic troubleshooting experience. Ability to diagnose and repair faults independently with minimal supervision. Experience with three-phase electrical systems, motors, contactors and control circuits. PLC fault-finding experience is essential. PLC programming experience will be an added advantage. Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems will be an advantage. Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment will be a strong advantage. Must be willing to work overtime and Saturdays when required. Must have a valid driver's licence. Must have reliable own transport. Must provide own basic hand tools (specialised tools will be supplied by the company). Must provide at least two contactable references.
