Maintenance Manager

The Franschhoek Wine Tram is one of South Africa's premier tourism experiences, renowned for exceptional guest service and operational excellence. We are looking for a hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance team and ensure our fleet, railway infrastructure, buildings, and facilities remain safe, reliable, and operating at the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the maintenance team and daily maintenance operations.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programmes.
• Oversee the maintenance of our fleet, railway infrastructure, workshops, buildings, and equipment.
• Coordinate contractors and manage maintenance projects.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and legal requirements.
• Manage maintenance budgets, stock, tools, and spare parts.
• Drive continuous improvement in maintenance systems and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Recognised trade qualification.
• Minimum 5 years' maintenance leadership experience.
• Strong mechanical, fleet, and general facilities maintenance knowledge.
• Experience leading teams and managing preventative maintenance systems.
• Computer literate with excellent planning and organisational skills.
• Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.
• Reside in the Franschhoek, Paarl, or Stellenbosch area.
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans.

Advantageous: Experience in rail operations, auto electrical, building maintenance, or the tourism industry.
