Maintenance Supervisor

We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to oversee and execute maintenance activities at a water treatment plant. The successful candidate will manage a maintenance team and ensure the reliable and safe operation of electrical and mechanical plant equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance.
• Attend to breakdowns, prioritise maintenance activities and ensure timely repairs.
• Supervise and coordinate maintenance teams, including standby rosters, overtime and skills development.
• Maintain and manage the CMMS (MaintainX) and asset register.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical and pump-related faults and perform root-cause analysis.
• Manage maintenance spares and ensure required stock levels are maintained.
• Ensure compliance with OHSA/MHSA, LOTO procedures, safety standards and ISO requirements.
• Conduct toolbox talks, maintenance planning meetings and reporting.
• Manage and coordinate maintenance contractors and liaise with the client.
• Assist with equipment specifications, procurement, repairs and new installations.
• Provide hands-on maintenance support where required and oversee high-risk work.

Minimum Requirements

• Qualified Millwright (Electro-Mechanician) with a Section 13 or Section 26D Trade Test.
• Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in maintenance of large electrical and mechanical installations.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with SCADA, PLC systems and instrumentation is advantageous.
• Knowledge of pumps, VSDs, soft starters, hydraulic/pneumatic systems and electrical/mechanical drawings.
• Experience in water treatment, mining or heavy industrial environments will be advantageous.
• Good knowledge of South African OHSA/MHSA and LOTO requirements.
• Strong leadership, planning, problem-solving and communication skills.

• Own accommodation within the region.
• Willingness to travel and provide standby support after hours and on weekends when required.
• Ability to work in challenging industrial conditions, including confined spaces and working at heights.
