Job description
MAIN PURPOSE
The main responsibility of the job holder is to manage all matters related to electrical/mechanical maintenance.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct electrical services and electrical maintenances of machines on site o Ensure preventive maintenance is performed
- Ensure machine breakdowns are repaired
- Ensure current and accurate record of maintenance
- Ensure all relevant manufacturer modifications and updates are performed/in-stalled
- Ensure a sound spare part warehouse o Maintain good housekeeping
- Ensure availability of spare parts
- Manage contractors on site
- Ensure all employees understand and follow company policies and procedures especially in terms of health and safety
- Performs daily checks on the facility and utilities and coordinates with service suppliers whenever external support for repairs or maintenance is needed
- Manages and participates in repair and maintenance of our facility and utilities equipment including air compressors, chillers, cooling systems and water treatment, power supply distribution systems and generators
- In charge for maintenance contracts of compressors and chillers
- Responsible to define, plan, order and direct utilities, services or maintenance
- Performs cost analysis for facility or utilities equipment
- Monitors the production plant infrastructure equipment parameters to ensure operation within accepted, defined specifications including electrical power usage
- Briefs and manages all contractors to either newly install, repair or maintain the above-mentioned infrastructure equipment
- Support all infrastructure project with clear project objectives and a timetable to ensure that all tasks are completed within time and budget
- Assists in design and coordination of plant layout
- Reviews for compliance with local law, engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements
- Record energy, water consumption and infrastructure costs
- Participates in designing, updating drawing layouts, managing and or monitoring small to midsize projects in regard to the facility and utilities.
- Coordinates and develops facility and infrastructure team
- Supporting the team to ensure team works together as efficiently as possible
- Assess training needs of staff and ensures execution of training
- Ensure staff are brought in to cover absenteeism and holidays
- Perform annual Performance Evaluation Performs daily checks on the facility and utilities and coordinates with service suppliers whenever external support for repairs or maintenance is needed
- Manages and participates in repair and maintenance of our facility and utilities equipment including air compressors, chillers, cooling systems and water treatment, power supply distribution systems and generators
- Responsible to report any risks identified for Quality and Food Safety Management where food contact product is produced in the plant.
- Ensure on-going awareness of Quality, Food Safety, Environmental and Health and Safety Management
- Ensure housekeeping and general areas facilitates a tidy, neat environment.
Based on the Business Process Management (BPM) processes the job holder is responsible for:
S6 (Assure product conformity)
- S6.3 Responsible to comply with all Hygiene requirements in the plant.
- S6.2 Support complaint handling by reporting all identified non-conformities and support in the implementation of effective corrective actions determined by the process owner, when needed.
S10 (Ensure occupational health, safety and environment)
- Ensure that HSE compliance in own area of responsibility.
- Report any incident or unsafe conditions seen in the plant/ work area.
REQUIREMENTS
- Aged between 18 and 34.
- Must be Unemployed.
- Must not have taken part on the YES Programme before
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Matric,
- Electrical/Mechanical engineering qualification.
- Minimum four years of work experience in a manufacturing environment
- Thorough understanding of technical aspects of different types of equipment
- Hands on experience running busy team
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience
- Good organizational skills and leadership skills
- Profound English and local language skills
