Freelance Mobile Makeup Artist - Cape Town

The Visua is a private beauty and wellness concierge offering personalised mobile services for women and men in Cape Town.

We are seeking highly skilled freelance makeup artists who consistently deliver exceptional results. We are looking for experienced professionals with a strong portfolio demonstrating polished soft glam, full glam and bridal makeup.

Services are provided at clients’ homes, hotels, villas and wedding venues.

Responsibilities:

• Create beautifully blended soft glam and full glam looks tailored to each client’s features and preferences.
• Provide elegant, long-lasting bridal makeup, as well as makeup for bridesmaids and wedding guests.
• Deliver camera-ready makeup for special occasions, photoshoots and private appointments.
• Consult with clients about their preferred look, skin type and product sensitivities.
• Match complexion products accurately and work confidently across different skin tones, skin types and age groups.
• Maintain excellent hygiene, with clean brushes, sanitised tools and properly maintained products.
• Arrive punctually with a complete professional makeup kit.
• Communicate clearly with The Visua team and respect client privacy.

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of professional makeup experience.
• Demonstrated experience in soft glam, full glam and bridal makeup.
• A strong portfolio featuring your own work on real clients, including clear examples of bridal looks.
• Excellent blending, skin preparation and complexion-matching skills.
• Your own professional makeup kit, including high-quality products suitable for different skin tones and types.
• Reliable transport to appointments within agreed Cape Town service areas.
• Professional presentation, punctuality and strong communication skills.
• Willingness to provide professional references and complete our onboarding and vetting process.
• Relevant makeup qualifications or training are an advantage.

We prioritise quality, attention to detail and a calm, attentive client experience. Applicants must be able to demonstrate the standard of their work through their portfolio.

Working arrangements and compensation:

This is a freelance, independent contractor opportunity. Appointments are arranged according to client demand and your availability.

Payment is based on completed appointments, with service fees agreed in advance according to experience and the service required. There is no guaranteed minimum number of bookings or fixed monthly salary. Travel arrangements and related costs will be confirmed before each appointment.
