Job description
JOB PURPOSE
The purpose of the Chartered Management Accountant is to provide oversight, management, and control of the InterAfrica ZA Financial Accounting process. The CMA will be responsible for managing the accounting process, bookkeeping, processing and receiving payments, commercials, payroll management, and working directly with the Chief Executive Officer and Commercial Director.

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
1. BCom Accounting, Finance or Management Accounting
2. CIMA Qualification is required
3. 5 to 7 years of relevant accounting experience in the Supply Chain, Logistics or Freight Industries.
4. Strong skills in accounting, budgeting, and cost accounting
5. Proven ability in financial analysis and inventory control
6. Problem solving and intuitive thinking
7. Able to work in a team-environment
8. Able to work independently
9. Excellent communication skills
10. Administration and filing skills
11. Able to meet deadlines and work under pressure
12. Able to work in a fast-paced environment
13. Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Prepare and analyse financial reports to support decision-making
2. Collaborate with various departments to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency
3. Contribute to financial planning and strategic initiatives
4. Manage the payroll process and collaborate with Human Resources.
5. Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
6. Develop, monitor, and analyse budgets and forecasts.
7. Perform variance analysis and provide recommendations to the Commercial Director.
8. Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting processes.
9. Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of reconciling items.
10. Maintain and manage the fixed asset register, including capital expenditure tracking, asset additions, disposals, and depreciation calculations.
11. Prepare and process standard monthly journal entries, ensuring appropriate supporting documentation and approvals.
12. Analyse business performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.
13. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax legislation, and company policies.
14. Assist with external and internal audits.
15. Support the implementation and continuous improvement of financial processes, controls, and reporting systems.
