Eduvos is looking to employ the services of a Manager: Academic Acquisition and Contract Management to be based at our Eduvos at our Bedfordview (Johannesburg) or Parc du Cap (Cape Town - Bellville) campus.

Purpose of the Role:
The Manager: Academic Acquisition and Contract Management is responsible for leading the institution's academic block recruitment, employment contracting, and workforce compliance functions. The role is accountable for the successful delivery of four annual lecturing block recruitment projects, ensuring the attraction, selection, and onboarding of qualified academic talent to meet institutional workforce requirements. Additionally, the role oversees the maintenance, administration and governance of fixed-term employment contracts, casual (temporary employment) contracts, and independent contractor agreements, while ensuring full compliance with employment legislation, institutional policies, and foreign national employment requirements.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum qualification:
- Honours Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration, Labour Relations, or a related field
- Masters's Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration, Labour Relations, or a related field will be preferable.
- Registration as an Industrial Psychologist or Psychometrist with the HPCSA will be advantageous.
Minimum e****xperience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years' Human Resources experience (non-administrative), including significant experience in recruitment and HR operations.
- Proven experience managing high-volume recruitment campaigns.
- Experience in employment contract administration and contractor management.
- Experience managing foreign national employment compliance and documentation.
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing HR or recruitment teams.
- Experience within a higher education or academic environment will be advantageous.
Duties and Responsibilities
As the Manager: Academic Acquisition and Contract Management you will be responsible for the following:
Academic Recruitment Management
- Lead and manage four annual lecturing block recruitment intakes to ensure the timely appointment of qualified academic lecturing staff.
- Oversee the end-to-end recruitment process, including workforce planning, advertising, candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer management, and onboarding.
- Partner with Academic Managers to understand staffing requirements and develop recruitment strategies.
- Ensure recruitment activities are aligned with organisational objectives, employment equity requirements, and best practice talent acquisition principles.
- Monitor recruitment performance against agreed service level agreements and key performance indicators.
- Develop talent pipelines to support future academic staffing needs.
- Analyse recruitment trends and provide regular management reports and workforce insights.
Contract Management
- Oversee the maintenance, administration, renewal, amendment, and governance of employment contracts and contractor agreements.
- Ensure all contractual documentation is accurate, compliant, and aligned with legislative and institutional requirements.
- Monitor contract expiry dates and proactively manage renewals and extensions.
- Provide guidance and support to stakeholders on employment contract matters and associated compliance requirements.
- Ensure accurate employee and contractor records and metrics are maintained, in collaboration with HR Operations.
Foreign National Compliance
- Manage all compliance requirements relating to foreign national employees and contractors.
- Ensure valid work permits, visas, passports, and supporting documentation are obtained, verified, and maintained.
- Monitor documentation expiry dates and coordinate renewal processes to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Act as the point of contact for foreign national employment compliance queries.
- Maintain accurate records for audit and regulatory purposes.
- Ensure adherence to applicable immigration legislation and institutional policies.
Team Leadership and Management
- Lead, coach, and develop a the HR Academic aquisition and contract management project team.
- Establish performance objectives and monitor individual and team performance against agreed targets.
- Allocate workload and resources to ensure efficient delivery of recruitment and contract administration services.
- Provide mentorship, training, and professional development opportunities for team members.
- Foster a culture of service excellence, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and support talent development initiatives.
Governance, Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with labour legislation, immigration regulations, employment equity requirements, and institutional policies.
- Develop, review, and implement procedures, and standard operating practices relating to academic recruitment projects, contracts, and workforce compliance.
- Identify and mitigate operational, legal, and compliance risks.
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate records and documentation.
- Maintain high standards of data integrity, confidentiality, and record management.
Reporting and Stakeholder Management
- Prepare and present regular reports on recruitment activity, contract management, workforce compliance, and key operational metrics.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with academic leadership, business stakeholders, and external service providers.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on recruitment, employment contracting, and compliance matters.
- Contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service delivery and operational effectiveness.
