The Western Cape Blood Service (WCBS) is a non-profit organisation whose mission is to collect, process and distribute blood and blood products throughout the Western Cape.
Permanent vacancy exists for the Manager – Donor Collections
Donor Division, (Paterson Grade C5)
Role Purpose:
Based in Ndabeni (Western Cape) and reporting to the HOD-Donor Division, the successful incumbent will join the WCBS management team and be responsible for managing and leading the Donor Collections within the Donor Division at WCBS.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all aspects of Donor Clinics.
- Formulation & Implementation of policy criteria for acceptance & deferrals of donors
- Creates and maintains good donor relationships
- Supervise and ensure the collection of safe blood by training staff to be competent and motivated with abilities to screen donors & collect safe blood.
- Document & follow up donor complaints.
- Monthly reporting
- Responsible for QMS
Minimum Requirements
- Matric/Grade 12
- Degree / Diploma in Nursing Science & current registration with the SA Nursing Council
- 5 years blood service experience in a senior role.
- Extensive knowledge of medical conditions/medication.
- Client service experience
- Staff management experience
