Manufacturing Accountant (Finance & Admin Accountant / Bookkeeper)

Fijn and Form, our in-house wood furniture and fittings manufacturing operation, is seeking a hands-on Finance & Admin Accountant / Bookkeeper to manage the full finance function of the business. This is a key operational finance role, reporting to the Group Financial Manager and working closely with operations, procurement and production.

This is not a role for someone content to repeat last year's processes. We are looking for a finance professional who actively challenges inefficiency, automates wherever sensible, and brings genuine manufacturing-sector understanding to costing, stock and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Full-function bookkeeping and management accounting, including cashbook, debtors, creditors, journals and reconciliations
• Stock and inventory accounting across raw materials, WIP and finished goods, including product/job costing, BOM accuracy and margin analysis
• Monthly management accounts, variance analysis and annual financial statements, liaising with external auditors
• Statutory compliance and SARS submissions (VAT, PAYE, UIF, SDL) and payroll administration
• Weekly and monthly cashflow forecasting, credit control and supplier payment runs
• Identify and implement process improvements, integrating Xero with third-party tools and standardising processes as the business scales

Requirements

• BCom (Accounting/Financial Management) or equivalent qualification
• Minimum 5 years' full-function bookkeeping or accounting experience
• Solid grasp of SARS compliance and statutory submissions
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, basic modelling)
• Manufacturing sector exposure to costing, stock control, WIP accounting, BOMs and production-linked finance
• Fluent in English; Afrikaans an advantage
• Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport

Highly Advantageous

• Xero proficiency, ideally Xero-certified
• Proximity to Durbanville, as this is an in-office role
• SAIPA, SAICA or CIMA articles completed
• Experience with manufacturing ERP or inventory systems (e.g. Sage Evolution, SAP Business One, Syspro, Unleashed, DEAR/Cin7)
• Exposure to Power BI, Google Sheets automation or AP automation tools (e.g. Dext, Hubdoc)

Pay: R1,00 - R2,00 per month
