As we continue to expand our market presence, we are looking for a passionate, creative and self-driven Marketing & Brand Manager to take ownership of our marketing function and play a key role in building the MANJOH brand.

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified marketing professional to make a real impact within a growing family-owned FMCG business. Previous work experience is not essential—we are looking for the right attitude, creativity, technical ability and passion for marketing.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing the company's overall marketing, branding and communication strategy.
  • Building and strengthening the MANJOH brand across traditional, digital and in-store marketing channels.
  • Developing and managing the annual marketing plan and promotional calendar.
  • Planning and managing advertising campaigns across radio, print, outdoor, digital and social media platforms.
  • Planning, coordinating and managing all in-store promotions, point-of-sale campaigns, product demonstrations and retail activations.
  • Working closely with retailers, wholesalers, merchandising teams and promoters to ensure the successful execution of in-store marketing initiatives.
  • Developing and implementing trade marketing campaigns that support sales growth and strengthen customer relationships.
  • Managing promotional material, point-of-sale displays, branded merchandise and in-store signage.
  • Managing the company's website and all social media platforms, ensuring regular, engaging and professional content.
  • Designing and producing high-quality marketing material including brochures, flyers, catalogues, presentations, packaging concepts, point-of-sale material and promotional artwork.
  • Creating engaging graphics, photography, videos and marketing content using professional design software and AI-powered creative tools.
  • Coordinating the production of all marketing collateral while ensuring brand consistency.
  • Managing relationships with advertising agencies, printers, media partners, photographers, videographers and other marketing service providers.
  • Planning and managing the company's participation in trade shows, industry exhibitions and promotional events.
  • Supporting the Sales Team with retailer presentations, promotional proposals, product launches and sales support material.
  • Conducting market research, analysing consumer trends and monitoring competitor activity.
  • Developing and managing sponsorship, community engagement and promotional initiatives where appropriate.
  • Managing the marketing budget and ensuring effective use of marketing resources.
  • Measuring and reporting on marketing campaign performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommending improvements.
  • Keeping up to date with emerging marketing trends, AI technologies and digital platforms to continuously improve marketing effectiveness.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must possess:

  • A recognised Bachelor's Degree, Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Marketing, Brand Management, Digital Marketing or a related field.
  • A qualification that includes Social Media Marketing and/or Social Media Management.
  • Previous work experience is not essential. Applications from suitably qualified graduates and early-career marketing professionals are encouraged.
  • Proficiency in graphic design and content creation using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Canva Pro or equivalent professional design software.
  • Experience using AI-powered creative tools such as ChatGPT, Canva AI, Adobe Firefly, Google Veo or similar platforms to create marketing content.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong copywriting ability.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • A creative eye for branding, design and visual communication.
  • Basic photography, videography and video editing skills will be advantageous.
  • A valid South African driver's licence is essential.
  • Willingness to travel to retailers, wholesalers, customer sites, promotional events and trade shows when required.
