About the Role

Bril Group is looking for a hands-on Marketing Assistant to support the CEO in driving marketing across the group. This is an execution-focused role for someone who can turn direction from the CEO into finished work: designed assets, scheduled social content, sent email campaigns, and tracked results. You'll be the person who makes sure marketing actually happens, week to week, across multiple brands.

What You'll Do

Social Media Management

• Plan, create, and schedule content across Bril's social channels (Instagram, Facebook, and others as needed)
• Maintain a content calendar aligned with store promotions, product launches, and brand campaigns
• Respond to comments and messages, and monitor engagement
• Source and edit photo/video content from stores and events

Basic Design

• Produce on-brand graphics for social posts, email campaigns, in-store signage, and digital ads (Canva or similar tools)
• Maintain consistency with Bril's brand guidelines across all touchpoints
• Resize and adapt assets for different formats and platforms

Email Marketing

• Build and send email campaigns (newsletters, promotions, product announcements) via the group's email platform
• Manage and segment customer email lists
• Track open rates, click-through rates, and report on performance

Campaigns

• Support the CEO in executing marketing campaigns from brief to launch
• Coordinate timelines across design, social, and email so campaigns launch on schedule
• Help coordinate marketing activity across the group's different brands and stores
• Keep a simple tracking system for what's been done, what's live, and what's next

General

• Act as an extra pair of hands for the CEO on marketing initiatives, a mix of proactive content production and responsive task execution
• Flag opportunities and ideas, but prioritise reliable execution of what's been agreed

What We're Looking For

• 1–3 years of experience in a marketing, social media, or content role
• Comfortable designing simple, polished graphics (Canva, Adobe Express, or similar, no advanced design degree required)
• Experience running social media accounts for a business or brand
• Familiarity with email marketing tools (Mailchimp, Klaviyo, or similar)
• Strong organisational skills. Able to juggle multiple brands/stores and keep campaigns on track
• Good writing skills and an eye for what looks good on-brand
• Self-starter who can take a brief and run with it, but also comfortable checking in and adjusting based on feedback
• Bonus: interest in eyewear, retail, or optometry; experience with Meta Ads or basic paid social

What Success Looks Like

• Social channels are active, consistent, and on-brand without needing daily CEO input
• Email campaigns go out on schedule and drive measurable engagement
• Campaigns launch on time, with design and content ready ahead of deadlines
• The CEO can hand over a marketing idea and trust it gets executed well

Pay: R15 000,00 - R25 000,00 per month
