Job Overview

CV’s 5-year plan focuses on implementing effective and modular customer journeys (FJs) at scale, and we are looking for a Marketing Lead - Social Direct to provide strategic and operational leadership for all our Social Direct marketing endeavors.

The primary focus will be to develop and oversee impactful marketing strategies, manage internal systems for advertising and budgeting, and ensure meticulous execution of campaigns.

The Marketing Lead will be responsible for guiding project scoping, defining key performance indicators, and collaborating closely with Religion-based Strategy Managers and internal teams to ensure all deliverables are met on time and within budget. A significant part of the role involves fostering a data-driven culture of continuous improvement, evaluating and recommending marketing tools, and providing critical insights from initiative data to shape overall strategy alongside key leaders. This role will assist the Direct Manager to lead and mentor the Social Direct team, championing best practices, supporting their cultural development, facilitating effective communication, and managing change.

The Marketing Lead will work with the Business Analyst and Social Direct Lead on budget planning and reconciliation, while ensuring all marketing activities comply with data governance, privacy, and regulatory standards, all in alignment with CV's mission.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all Social Direct Marketing strategies in alignment with organisational goals, working closely with key leaders in Social Direct to shape the overall strategy.
  • Provide data-driven insights for strategic planning, assist in project scoping, align KPIs, and identify success indicators.
  • Oversee internal systems and processes for marketing, including ad management, budgeting, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Business Analyst and Initiative Lead on budget planning, spend reconciliation, and evaluating tools to optimise marketing operations.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including Localisation Managers, Project Managers, and Social Direct personnel, to ensure project deliverables, timelines, and budgets are met.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, promote data-driven decision-making, and support communication within the team.
  • Manage and mentor the marketing team, contributing to staff training, onboarding, and managing change for new systems or policies.
  • Ensure adherence to data governance, privacy, and regulatory standards in all marketing activities.
  • Lead technology and automation within marketing, including being aware of the latest updates in digital marketing and AI automation.
  • Collaborate within a global organisation across time zones, including occasional out-of-hours availability where required.

General Responsibilities

Fulfil all duties outlined above for this specific role, and as directed below for all team members within CV. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Actively pursue personal, professional, and spiritual growth.
  • Contribute positively to our team culture by upholding CV’s values in attitude and action.
  • Comply with all CV policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate integrity in all matters.
  • Engage fully in staff and team meetings, collaboration, and communication.
  • Commit to continuous learning and development as needed for the role.
  • Foster respectful, clear, and constructive communication across all interactions.
  • A practising Christian in full agreement with the CV Statement of Faith.
  • Actively involved in a local church or Christian faith community.
  • Committed to living according to biblical values.

Skills, Experience and Education

  • 5+ years of experience required in marketing strategy, both organic and paid, with proven experience in developing and overseeing Social Direct Marketing strategies aligned with organisational goals.
  • Preferably a marketing diploma/degree with a strong background in managing digital marketing projects, including budget planning, ad management, and process optimisation, but if you can prove experience over qualification, that will be acceptable.
  • Leadership experience managing cross-functional teams, driving continuous improvement, and fostering data-driven decision-making.
  • In-depth knowledge of data governance, privacy, regulatory standards, and compliance in marketing activities.
  • Analytical mindset, skilled in using data to inform strategy and measure success.
  • Proficiency in marketing tools and systems, with expertise in recommending and implementing new technologies to support operations.
  • Strong detail, organisational, and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and relational skills, with experience in change management and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proven track record in shaping data-informed practices within complex organisational structures.
  • Demonstrated success working in fast-paced environments with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in automating reporting workflows and processes, with operational expertise in localisation tools, content workflows, and AI-assisted systems.
