Marketing Manager SSA

Description

The Marketing Manager SSA is accountable for end-to-end management of assigned brands, driving market share and competitive advantage, while optimizing COGs and A&P spend across all touchpoints and contributing to SSA brand and budget targets. Key responsibilities include:

• Manage brand P&L, including COGs, promotional spend, and A&P, ensuring costs remain within budget
• Monitor excess and obsolescence monthly, implementing corrective actions as needed
• Review and act on key performance reports, including SKU, pricing, and promotional reports
• Prepare for and actively participate in weekly/monthly marketing and sales meetings with Country Manager and Sales & Operations Manager
• Complete regional and global brand reporting and provide feedback as required
• Represent marketing in internal, brand, distributor, and retailer meetings
• Lead or support special projects assigned by the Country Manager
• Travel across Sub-Saharan African markets as required
• Execute operational administration, including purchase orders, invoices, and deliverables follow-up
• Perform additional duties aligned to the role and overall business strategy Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience in Product or Marketing roles within retail, cosmetics, luxury goods, or FMCG; multi-brand experience is an advantage.
• Strong MS Office capability (Excel, PowerPoint) with working knowledge of SAP.
• Highly analytical, data-driven mindset with strong numerical capability.
• Detail-oriented, well-organised, and able to deliver accurately and on time.
• Able to manage multiple brands and projects within cross-functional, international, and external stakeholder environments.
• Strategic marketing and portfolio accountability with a strong consumer-centric approach.
• Clear, confident communicator able to engage stakeholders effectively and timeously.
