Job description
Job Advert Summary
As Marketing Traffic Manager, you will be the central point of coordination for our marketing operation, ensuring briefs, deadlines, resources and capacity are aligned across the team. You will create the structure and visibility that enables our campaign specialists to focus on delivering high-quality work for their brands.
You will establish and maintain a consistent briefing standard across Marketing, Channel Sales, Ecommerce and Product, ensuring every project enters the workflow with the information required for the team to deliver efficiently and effectively. You will work confidently with stakeholders at all levels to clarify requirements, manage expectations and ensure briefs are ready to progress.
You will own a consolidated marketing calendar, providing a clear view of brand activity, vendor campaigns, retail partnerships and promotions. You will also provide regular capacity forecasting, helping the team prioritise effectively and make informed decisions about workload, resources and deadlines.
As a high-volume, fast-moving distribution business with an in-house marketing operation spanning brand, content, ecommerce and retail, we are looking for someone who enjoys creating structure, improving processes and keeping work moving. If you are energised by turning complexity into clarity and measure your success by the quality and timeliness of delivery, this could be the role for you.
WHY SYNTECH
At Syntech, we're a forward-thinking, technology-driven company guided by our core values:
- Appreciation of excellence: Celebrate exceptional work & ideas.
- Honourable candour: Build trust with honesty, transparency, & accountability.
- Thirst for learning: Stay curious, embrace feedback, & continuously grow.
- Commitment to innovation: Drive change through constant, iterative improvement.
These principles shape our dynamic and collaborative culture, where creativity thrives, ideas are celebrated, and every voice makes an impact. We equip our team with modern tools — including our own in-house marketing platform — to drive transformative campaigns and stay ahead in an ever-evolving market.
As leaders in brand management, digital marketing, ecommerce, and retail solutions, we constantly evolve to remain at the forefront of innovation. If you thrive in a high-performance, fast-paced environment, love solving complex challenges, and are passionate about achieving exceptional results, Syntech is the place for you.
We offer a competitive, market-related remuneration package tailored to your skills and experience, alongside opportunities for continuous learning and professional development.
Minimum Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- 4+ years in a traffic, studio, production or delivery management role. Advertising, digital or creative agency traffic experience is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience running intake and scheduling for a multi-discipline team — design, content, digital and email — at high volume.
- Administrator-level competence on a work management platform (Monday.com or similar). User-level experience is not sufficient; you will configure and maintain the boards, not just work in them.
- Proven ability to build a briefing standard from scratch and hold an organisation to it, including senior stakeholders outside your reporting line.
- Strong data and reporting capability: able to track and interpret throughput, on-time delivery, cycle time, deadline movement and capacity utilisation, and to recommend improvements from what the numbers show.
- Experience in an environment with high SKU, asset or campaign volume — distribution, retail, ecommerce or agency.
- Exposure to marketing automation or integration tooling (Make.com, Power Automate, RPA) is a bonus, not a requirement.
- An undergraduate qualification in marketing, business or a related field is preferred, but we welcome relevant certification or equivalent professional experience. We recognise there are diverse paths to expertise.
Desired personality traits:
- Comfortable saying no. You can return an incomplete brief to a National Sales Manager without damaging the relationship.
- Organised to the point of it being a personality trait, and calm when several things are competing for the same Friday.
- Systems-minded and tech-curious: you would rather fix the process than firefight the symptom.
- Direct, evidence-led communicator. You escalate with facts and options, not complaints.
- Service-oriented without being a doormat. You exist to make the team faster, and you hold them to the standard that makes that possible.
Duties and Responsibilities
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Brief intake & quality governance
- Own the Syntech briefing standard: design it, socialise it, and enforce it across Marketing, Channel Sales, Ecommerce and Product.
- Review every incoming brief at intake. Return incomplete or unclear briefs to the requestor with a clear reason, log the rejection, and escalate repeat offenders.
- Ensure no work enters the schedule without a defined objective, deliverable, deadline, audience and owner.
Calendar & schedule ownership
- Maintain one consolidated marketing calendar across brands, vendor campaigns, retail partners, promotions and mailers as the single source of truth.
- Book work into available capacity and negotiate realistic dates at the point of scheduling, not after the fact.
- Control deadline movement: every date change is documented, reasoned and approved. Movement is the exception, never the routine.
Capacity & resource planning
- Publish a weekly capacity forecast across design, content, listings and email.
- Flag over-commitment before it happens and present options — resequence, rescope, extend, or outsource.
- Forecast resource needs for upcoming campaign cycles and retail partner requirements, and raise gaps early.
Delivery tracking & escalation
- Track progress on all live work daily and intervene on blockers before they affect a deadline.
- Run the daily and weekly stand-ups that keep the team aligned on priority and sequence.
- Escalate to the Campaign Manager and Head of Marketing with evidence: what is late, why, what the impact is, and what you propose.
Systems integrity
- Administer and maintain the marketing work management platforms, including our in-house Marketing OS and Monday.com.
- Ensure every active item carries an owner, a due date and a current status, so reporting can be trusted without manual cleaning.
- Drive platform adoption across the team and identify opportunities for automation or integration to remove manual effort.
Reporting & continuous improvement
- Deliver a weekly throughput and delivery pack, and a monthly operations metrics report.
- Surface at least one evidenced process improvement recommendation per month.
- Document all workflows and keep process documentation current as the operating model evolves.
