Job description
Marketplace Coordinator | Supernova Brands
Supernova Brands is hiring a commercially driven, execution-focused Marketplace Coordinator to take ownership of marketplace operations for our Consumer Electronics Business Unit.
In this high-autonomy role, you will act as the primary strategic and operational partner for your Business Unit. You will ensure our product catalog is commercially competitive, accurately positioned, and operationally supported across major platforms, including Takealot, Amazon, and Makro. At Supernova Brands, we prioritize sustainable performance, professional impact, and data-backed consistency over performative, reactive hustle.
Key Responsibilities🧳
1. Execution, Performance & Operations
- Execute day-to-day platform activities including listings, catalogue expansions, promotional planning, and tactical pricing updates.
- Manage content changes for listings and brand spaces to ensure products are optimally represented.
- Coordinate stock replenishments to Takealot, Amazon, and Makro distribution centers, as well as any new priority marketplaces.
- Maintain operational excellence by managing financial reconciliations of marketplace accounts.
- Oversee stock management and reconciliation, including handling removal orders, price drops, and aging stock.
- Manage order administration, encompassing returns, credit notes, accounting corrections, and RMAs.
- Conduct ad-hoc investigations to resolve order discrepancies, account issues, technical errors, and stock irregularities.
- Drive communication and coordination between internal and external stakeholders, including Marketplace Account Managers, internal/external Marketing teams for paid media, and direct customer communication when required for specific marketplace queries or BU-associated websites.
2. Category Familiarization & Insight Development
- Become a master of your assigned BU products, including hands-on exposure (unboxing, testing, and seeing products in action).
- Conduct regular competitor and pricing checks to fine-tune product positioning.
- Engage with the BU to deeply understand broader strategy, product lifecycles, and how to capitalize on product strengths.
- Provide data-backed input into category discussions and translate observed marketplace behavior into practical recommendations for tactical adjustments.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as the day-to-day marketplace point of contact for the assigned BU, holding weekly meetings to discuss new products, container updates, issues, and opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with BU teams on product selection, stock availability forecasting, and campaign alignment.
- Engage Operations, Finance, and other support teams to unblock execution efficiently.
4. Risk & Issue Flagging
- Proactively identify and flag risks related to stock-outs, overstock, pricing competitiveness, and system or marketplace limitations.
- Escalate blockers clearly and early, always providing context and solutions-oriented next steps.
- Support troubleshooting alongside the Marketplace Team Lead for any issues relating to promotions, listings, or stock availability.
5. Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, workflows, and execution efficiency between the marketplace team and the assigned BU.
- Contribute strategic ideas that improve the scalability, visibility, and overall effectiveness of marketplace operations.
- Support the testing and rollout of new commercial initiatives led by the Marketplace Team Lead.
Accountability & Support Structures🎯
You are accountable for the execution and delivery of assigned initiatives, sharing influence over overall BU performance rather than carrying sole responsibility. Success is driven by execution excellence and collaboration, not unilateral control.
To enable your success, you will be supported by:
- Marketplace Team Lead: Provides strategic direction, unlocks new growth levers, removes blockers, and acts as an escalation point.
- Business Unit: Provides clear product strategy, stock positions, pricing intent, and commercial context.
- Wider Business: Operations, Finance, and Marketing teams provide domain expertise and robust operational support.
