MASTER VEHICLE TECHNICIAN – GARDEN ROUTE

The Role

This position requires a highly skilled Master Technician, technically strong individual with OEM-level training and experience with both ICE petrol and diesel vehicles and HEV hybrid and EV electric vehicles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Make use of OEM manufacturer diagnostic equipment.
• Diagnose, successfully repair and resolve mechanical and electronic faults.
• Servicing and maintenance in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
• Perform quality repairs “Fix It Right First Time” is paramount atall times.
• Conduct quality inspections and road tests on all vehicles.
• Ensure all repairs meet manufacturers standards.
• Provide technical team support to other technicians.
• Work closely with the workshop team to ensure efficient workflow and maintain high customer satisfaction.
• Good communication skills with aftersales team and ability to report, record time and information to Service Advisors to discuss with clients accurately.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid Motor Mechanic Trade Test Certificate recognised in South Africa.
• Post qualified minimum 5 years' experience as an Automotive Technician within an OEM/dealership environment.
• Master technician certification or equivalent OEM-accredited training.
• Experience in automotive diagnostics and fault-finding.
• Experienced with automotive electronics and electrical systems.
• Experience with EV and hybrid vehicle technology.
• Experience with all mechanical repairs on motor vehicles, bakkies and SUVs.
• Matric with Mathematics and Science.
• OEM technical training and certification.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Computer literate , email, Word & Excel
• Valid driver’s licence and own transport.

Skills and Experience TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• Automotive diagnostic skills.
• Sound understanding of modern vehicle electronic systems diagnostics and repairs.
• Mechanical fault-finding and repairs, engines, transmissions, suspensions, drive train components and brakes.
• Training and experience on EV and hybrid vehicle technology.
• Use of OEM Manufacturer-approved diagnostic systems.
• Ability to interpret electronic workshop manuals, wiring diagrams and diagnostic data.
• Auto electrical experience on alternators, starters and wiring repairs.
• Experience with Airconditioning systems and equipment.
