Bridge Tutoring Services is expanding! We are looking for a patient, enthusiastic, and reliable Primary School Mathematics Tutor to join our team for in-person, part-time lessons in Pretoria East.

Primary school is where foundational numerical skills and attitudes toward learning are built. We need a tutor who can make numbers engaging, build confidence, and help young learners transition from basic arithmetic to multi-step problem solving.

The Role

• Location: In-person home lessons in Pretoria East (Faerie Glen, Garsfontein, Moreleta Park, Silver Lakes, and surrounding suburbs).
• Level: Primary School (Grade 1–7 focus).
• Subjects: Primary Mathematics (CAPS and IEB foundational frameworks).
• Type: Part-time / Hourly.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver clear, engaging, 1-on-1 math lessons tailored to younger learners.
• Simplify core concepts: number sense, fractions, decimals, word problems, long division, and early algebra.
• Teach practical study habits and problem-solving strategies to reduce "math anxiety."
• Provide regular, constructive progress updates to parents.

What We’re Looking For

• Personality: Highly patient, encouraging, energetic, and great at connecting with children.
• Background: Ideally an Education student (Foundation / Intermediate Phase) or a university student/graduate with a strong knack for teaching young learners.
• Location & Mobility: Must reside in or be able to easily travel around Pretoria East.
• Language: Fluent in English (Afrikaans proficiency is a strong advantage for dual-medium schools in this area).
• Reliability: Punctual, organized, and committed to consistent weekly sessions.
