Mechanic

Mechanical & Auto Electrical Repairs

Perform mechanical repairs on forklifts, trucks, tractors, earthmoving machines, LDVs, small plant equipment, generators and trolleys.

Conduct basic auto electrical repairs on a variety of vehicles and equipment.

Execute all types of services on forklifts, trucks, trailers, tractors, and LDVs.

Perform running repairs on diesel and petrol vehicles, equipment and machines.

Conduct repair work on trolleys, trailers, and welding repairs on trolley frames and axles.

Perform engine and transmission reconstructions, valve body, and pump reconditioning when engineering is not required.

Administrative & Compliance

Administer regular reporting to management regarding breakdowns, repairs, and services.

Ensure completion of job cards and daily checklists.

Inspect company breakdown vehicles and adhere to breakdown safety protocols.

Additional Duties

Report major vehicle problems to the Supervisor promptly.

Perform panel beating and spray painting on forklifts, trucks, tractors, and trailers.

Attend breakdowns promptly and conduct in-house breakdown assessments.

Collect spares as needed.

Conduct monthly toolbox checks and report any missing tools to the Supervisor.

Handle fiberglass repairs on specified vehicles.

Conduct hydraulic system and pump re-sealing on forklifts.

Service and repair small plant equipment as needed.

Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organised work area.
