SUMMARY: Mechanic & Maintenance Technician Salary: R 23 000

We are seeking a reliable and hands-on candidate to join our agricultural team. This role is ideal for an experienced individual who enjoys working in a diverse environment and is capable of maintaining farm vehicles, machinery, and general infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment is serviced, repaired, and maintained to minimise downtime and support daily farming operations.

POSITION INFO: Key Responsibilities Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs efficiently. Perform general workshop maintenance, including welding and fabrication work. Maintain workshop stock levels and manage spare parts inventory. Source and collect vehicle and machinery parts when required. Carry out minor maintenance and repairs on packhouse equipment. Assist with the maintenance and repair of irrigation systems and water pumps. Provide basic electrical fault-finding and repair assistance. Ensure all maintenance is completed safely and within agreed deadlines. Maintain accurate service and maintenance records. Keep the workshop clean, organised, and compliant with safety standards. Minimum Requirements Minimum 5 years' experience as a Mechanic or Maintenance Technician. Proven experience servicing and repairing trucks, tractors, farm machinery, and light vehicles. Previous agricultural or farming experience will be highly advantageous. Experience with welding and general fabrication. Basic knowledge of irrigation systems, pumps, and electrical maintenance. Valid driver's licence. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. This position would suit an experienced mechanic who enjoys the variety of working in a farming environment. The successful candidate will be practical, dependable, willing to learn new skills, and comfortable working across mechanical, maintenance, and general farm infrastructure. An older, experienced individual with an agricultural background would be highly advantageous.
